GENERAL Q&A's

Are your certificates enough to get me a job?
Yes. Many owners of salons, spas and nail businesses send their staff out on one day intensive courses for their training. You also have the opportunity to be self employed and offer your newly acquired skills as a mobile therapist to friends, families, work mates, doing pamper evenings etc. On the training day you will receive a wealth of information from your tutor.  If you have a job in mind then please discuss the training requirements with a future employer prior to booking, so full guidance can be given.

How do I book a course?
Please contact us by phone, email or using the booking form and leave your contact details and a tutor will then contact you to arrange the time & date for your training. All payments are taken by secure card terminal facility. Alternatively please contact us first for available dates, further course information or any general enquiries you have regarding any of our courses.

Does the Academy Certificate allow me to get insurance so that I can practice?
Yes, absolutely, the certificates have been accredited by external agency The guild of Beauty Therapists – they are a leading industry association. They have given us the ability to teach students these courses to practitioner level. On each of our courses the tutor will give you information on how to obtain insurance. You will have no trouble finding insurance with our certificates.

Do we get the certificate on the day?
Not automatically, however in most cases our tutors have found that they are distributing certificates as our students successfully attain the required standards. If for any reason a tutor feels like more practice is needed then we will arrange a mutually convenient date for you to do the next course that has a spare place. At some of our venues the certificates are posted out  and you will receive these through the post within a week.

What should I wear; do I need a Therapy Uniform?
VTCT courses require you to wear a tunic during your training.
There is no requirement for any uniform when on a Guild Course, however your clothes should be comfortable and not restricting movement. Preferably with short sleeves or sleeves you can roll up. Please do not bring excessive jewellery on your course, please try to leave this at home, and also bring something to tie your hair back. Your nails should be clean, tidy and short. Please do not turn up with long acrylic nails unless you are prepared to remove them!  You will receive more information in your welcoming email when you book about the requirements of the course you choose.
